Affiliate SEO Tricks...

The majority of the world’s working population perform their jobs in offices and most of the world’s working population do not like their jobs because, well, who wants to work? So, if you don’t like to work but have to work anyway, why stick yourself into a job with low pay? The best solution would be to find a high-paying job, work hard and then start your own business if you can.

The problem is, even with a high paying job, you can’t earn enough money to start a business. The World Wide Web, being an economy in itself, offers a variety of opportunities for making money. You can try your hand at freelance jobs like data encoding, medical transcription, article composition and programming.

There are a number of freelancer websites that you can join so you may work at home and put some extra money in your pocket. Start-up capital = $0 There are supposedly expert moneymakers who, for a small fee of $100 to $200 will teach you how to earn $2,000 to $10,000 a month. You can try out their system for free, but, you will have to place a deposit to be able to get the free trial. Start-up capital = $49 to $100 depending on deposit requirements.

Finally, you can be a passive internet salesperson. I call it passive because all you have to do is establish a base of operations in the internet. Once that base has been established, you have the potential to earn from $0 to unlimited income. All you have to do afterwards is maintain or update that base once every three months. And yes, this advice is free. No trial offers, and no deposits required.

Read on please. Vendor sites like amazon.com offer internet surfers the opportunity of earning additional income in exchange for the promotion of their website and products.

This is how it works. You will need to sign-up for affiliate membership. Most vendor sites that offer affiliate programs do not charge you for this. This is only fair since you will be selling them to people. Be wary of vendor sites that charge fees for membership to their affiliate programs.

Once you join-up, they will give you a reference number or an ID number that you will paste into your html scripts. Your vendor site will give you instructions on how to paste them.

Normally, an affiliate will have to have a website where they can promote the vendor site. You will promote the vendor site by adding links to the site’s home page and some specific products which you think will sell more. You will need to design your website to accommodate these links as well as alter some of your websites graphics to make way for banners, or picture links.

Don’t forget to add the ID or reference number to the link so that the vendor can identify your referral. Once you have the links in place, you will need to write some 250++ words about the product you are selling. I recommend allotting 1 web page per product as this will help you in search engine result rankings.

The content you write will have to be relevant and filled with keywords that pertain to the product itself. Once everything is done, you need to find out if your website shows up in search engine queries when browsing for your product.

If you think this is too much work, you can try writing newsletters about a product on a vendor site that contains links to the product. You then post the newsletter on the internet and hope that a search engine indexes it. Mind you, this isn’t a get rich quick scheme. Times are hard and we need all the financial assistance we can get.

This is just one option where you can possibly earn a lot more than your current income. The problem with most affiliate is that they don’t last long because they fail to maintain and update their product links. Some of the products that you have linked to before may have already been discontinued. You need to check on your links at least once every 3 months or once a month at optimum. Finally, don’t be content with what you have. Look for additional products to sell.

Calgary Work at Home Mom Says It’s Not Too Late to Skyrocket Online Sales This Christmas

Two weeks to go, but online business owners can still turn a pretty profit this holiday season. Work at home mom explains three ways to make more online sales before the big day.

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) December 10, 2007 — If Christmas sales aren’t where they should be — or even if they are — Calgary work at home mom Denise Willms says online business owners can still skyrocket their online sales, despite there being only two weeks left until the big day.

“It’s all about the content on your website,” Willms says. “At this time of year, Internet users are searching for Christmas gifts and ideas. If your content is relevant to what they’re looking for, it’s a pretty good bet you’ll have more traffic, which should lead to more sales.”

Willms is the owner of www.WAHM-Articles.com, a directory of free reprint articles written by work at home moms, for work at home moms to use in their websites, newsletters and blogs. She also works with clients to create content and articles that attract targeted visitors to their websites.
Here are some of Willms’ suggestions to help online business owners make the most of the remaining holiday shopping season.

AdSense Sites- Sites that make their revenue from Google AdSense ads may have seen profits drop over the past few weeks, depending on their niche. To regain some of those lost dollars, Willms recommends adding some Christmas content to AdSense websites and blogs. When AdSense crawls new content it will add Christmas-related ads that visitors are more likely to click on at this time of year.

Website owners don’t need to spend hours creating the Christmas content. Instead, they can look for quality Private Label Rights articles or simply use free reprint Christmas articles from an article directory.

Affiliate Sites - Online businesses that make money through affiliate marketing can post reviews of the products people are looking for this Christmas. They can either write their own or find free reprint product reviews in article directories. Willms recommends finding reviews on products that can be purchased at Amazon and posting an affiliate link to the product along with the review.

Selling a Product - For business owners who create and sell a product, an easy way to increase sales this Christmas is by writing and submitting articles about the product and submitting it to reputable article directories. By submitting an article to an online directory instead of only publishing it on the author’s own site, search engines and human shoppers will find it more quickly. An active link to the website where readers can purchase the product should be included In the resource box of the article.

“You shouldn’t openly promote your products in the articles you write,” Willms says, “but you should use the article to presell your product. For example, if you make tie dyed scarves, you could write about how to choose the right scarf for a Christmas gift, or about how to accessorize with a tie dyed scarf. Win your readers’ trust first by giving them the information they need; when they click through to your website, then you can sell them.”

For business owners who don’t have time to create more of their product for last minute Christmas sales, Willms says they shouldn’t let that stop them from trying to fit in more holiday sales. “Your customer just needs something to put under the tree Christmas morning. If you don’t have time to get the product to them, send them a certificate or something saying your product is on its way.”

Internet Directories - Do They Still Provide Benefits To Webmasters

November 15th, 2007

There was a time not too long ago that if you needed a boost in the Search Engine Rankings all you had to do is submit your site to hundreds of Internet Directories and watch your website or blog crawl up the SERPS.

Fast forward a few years and that’s not necessarily the case any longer.

Oh Directories, How I Use To Love Thee

As I said above, in the past Directories were a short cut to a bundle of backlinks that would help your rankings.

So what has happened?

The same thing that happens to many good things on the Internet.

Spammers.

Many Directories, especially free Directories, are nothing more than Made For Adsense sites and Spam ads.

The Search Engines, especially Google, have gotten very good at weeding out these Spam Directories and devaluing links from them.

Will links from these sites to your site hurt you? Not in my experience, but why would you throw good money at a fruitless effort, not to mention the time and trouble of submitting your site to all these Directories?

Shoemoney had an interview with some top SEO experts a while back and they believed that only Directories that sent traffic to your website were worth the money. You have to be you own judge as each site is different, but I like them for backlinks also.

Where Have All The Good Directories Gone?
I know some of you may be asking “Are there any Directories worth submitting my sites to?”

Of course there are. Unfortunately most Directories worth submitting your site to are paid Directories.

The reason many paid Directories are still beneficial to website owners is because the better ones actually review websites that are submitted. Not all websites will be accepted. It’s these types of Directories that Google actually likes due to the “Trust” factor.

Having your sites listed in better paid Directories will lead to additional backlinks from other websites. Granted, most of these additional backlinks will be from sites with lower authority, but they’re backlinks none the less.

Tips For Making The Most Out Of Your Directory Submission
Hey people. If you’re going to pay for a submission to Directories, take your time and do it right for maximum SEO benefits. I’ve seen sites submitted to paid Directories that had the lousiest descriptions and no anchor text. What a waste of Money!

Here’s a few tips for submitting your site to Internet Directories.

Forget about paying some so called “Directory Submission” company to submit your site to hundreds of Directories for $20, $40 or $50. Most of these are automated submissions which return very little to nothing at all on your investment. If you choose to have someone else submit your site, make sure actual humans are hand submitting your site to each directory and then ask for a report that will show you which directories your site was submitted to and whether or not it was accepted. Expect to pay a few hundred dollars for this service.

If you really want to take advantage of Directories, go ahead and pay the admission fee to top Directories. You can easily drop a few thousand dollars on submission fees to the top 50 Internet Directories. Consider this a good investment for your website, especially if this is a website you plan on keeping for long term.

Don’t keep submitting your site over and over. Many Directories will blacklist your for this. This is why many Webmasters get into trouble by having someone else do it. They keep blasting Directories with your website via automated software until the Directory blacklist your site. Many times the unaware website owner doesn’t even know their site has been blacklisted.

Use anchor text. If you’re going to the trouble and expense to submit your website to Directories, take full advantage of the submission by using Anchor Text. Also, never use the same Anchor Text over and over. Use several related keywords for Anchor Text pointing back to your site.
Spread out your submissions. Want to grab Google’s attention quickly? Then submit your site to many directories at the same time. When Google Bot finds all those links pointing back to you site at one time, bad things can happen. Spread out your submissions over a period of time. This is another reason NOT to use a Directory Submission service or Directory submission software.

Use good descriptive descriptions. Just like Anchor Text, take the time to use good descriptions. A good description can set your site apart from all the other websites in your chosen category.
Make sure the Directory page you submit too is actually indexed in the Search Engines. If the Directory or the Directory Page you’re submitting to isn’t indexed, you’ll receive little, if any, benefit.

Go Deep. Make sure the page you submit to the Directory is relevant to the category. If you have a website about Pets including sub pages on Cats, Dogs and Birds, submit your inner pages to relevant categories for maximum benefit.

Forget Directory wide links. Forget about submitting to Directories that promise you site wide links. This too will get Google’s attention. Google will likely not value these links due to the lack of editorial integrity, ie; trust and authority, of the Directory.

The Top 25 Directories Your Site Should Be Submitted To
If you want to take advantage of Internet Directories, here are the Top 25 that you website should be submitted to.

1. www.dmoz.org

Initial Search Engine Placement:Tips to Get Listed on Search

You can get listed on search engine within a week or maximum within 2 weeks without even submitting your URL. Moreover, it is widely said nowadays that letting the search engine 'spider' index your web site is better strategy than submitting URL. That is, don't submit URL to search engines: instead, let search engines find your web site, because search engine values the site (which is found during usual crawling) more than the one crawled by submission.

How to let search engines find your home page?

It's not difficult nor technical. In theory your site must be indexed on search engine without submitting your URL because search engine spider program will crawl your web site unless you totally hide your web site on the web. Tips are the techniques that force the search engines crawl your site so that your home page can be listed on search engine within a week just after you upload your HTML files on your host. There is one condition, though. Your web pages must have some contents. Don't be panic. I believe almost every web site has decent content pages.

How to know your site is indexed or listed on search engine?

Before applying following tips, check weather your site is listed on search engines. To do that, type "site:your homepage address", for example, "site:www.yourhome.com" without quote in the search box of Google, Yahoo! Search or MSN. If your site is indexed, you will see list of your web pages. If not and if you see something like "Your search ... did not match any documents.", your site is not listed yet.

If your site is listed, you don't need to read this article further. You have to focus on how to improve your search engine ranking.. If you're not indexed in search engine yet, apply following tips and you'll be listed on search engine within a week or two.

Tip #1:Create RSS feed and add it to your My Yahoo and My MSN account

Whether you know about RSS or not doesn't matter. Just create RSS feed of your web content pages or articles on your web site and I'll show you how to create RSS feed and explain how to use it to make your home page get listed on search engines.

First, create RSS feed
You can create RSS feed with "FeedForAll" software (for Windows user) without any background knowledge of RSS. It enables you to create RSS feed and update your RSS feed whenever you add new contents to your web site without hassle. You can download free trial of "FeedForAll" at FeedForAll free trial or buy FeedForAll here.

  • go to RSS Headline and choose the number of headlines you'd like to include in your RSS feed file.

  • Then a form with boxes that you need to fill out-your web page title, your web page location (URL) and description of your web page-will be appeared. Enter the right information, then click the "Make The Code" button. You'll notice that this is a bit tedious job but it's the cost of free. :-)

  • It only generates RSS version 0.91 but fortunately many of RSS reader can handle it. I checked its update function but unfortunately it didn't work correctly. This means probably whenever you update your site, you need update your RSS feed file manually.

  • Copy the generated code to your favorite text editor and save it with extension rss, for example, mypages.rss.

  • Upload it to your ftp server so that your RSS feed location can be for example "www.yourhome.com/mypages.rss."

Now you're half done. Let's move to the real tip.

Add your RSS feed to YOUR "My Yahoo!" and "My MSN"
If you don't have "My Yahoo!" and "My MSN" account, create them now. You can create them at "my.yahoo.com" and "my.msn.com" and they are free. After having these accounts, locate "add to My Yahoo!" and "MY MSN+" buttons linked with your RSS feed file on your web site. To locate those buttons, do the following.

  • To make "add to My Yahoo!" button, insert following HTML code to your web page, Add to My Yahoo!

Remember that you have to substitute "www.yourhome.com/mypages.rss" with your exact RSS feed file location.

  • To add "MY MSN+" button, insert following HTML code to your web page,
    Add to My MSN

When you insert the above code, don't forget

  1. replace "home-based-affiliate-business.com/article.rss" with your RSS feed URL
  2. replace "www.returntolink.com" with an optional alternate web address that will display, if someone cancels before completely adding your feed to her My MSN.
  3. copy the mymsn.gif image to the images directory of your ftp. You can copy the mymsn.gif here

Go to your home page, and click the button one by one. If you followed the above steps, you should be able to add your web site RSS feed to your own My Yahoo! and My MSN account. Yes, to your own account.

  • Ask your friends to click the buttons on your home page so that they may add your RSS feed to their account. This enhances the chance to get listed on search engines. I experienced, however. that without bothering my friend , that is, adding my home page RSS feed to only my own My Yahoo and My MSN, I could get listed in search engine within a week.

Why adding your RSS feed to your My Yahoo!" and My MSN account guarantees you to be indexed?
Within 24 hours after you add your RSS feed to your account, Yahoo! Search and MSN search engine will crawl your site. More than 90% certainty, your site will be indexed in Yahoo! Search and MSN. But it will take about a week or a bit more to be listed because there is a delay between crawling and indexing. Now what can you do? Just wait? No, there is something more you can do. It'll give you 100% certainty and furthermore help you to be listed on Google search engine. So, please keep on reading.

Tip #2: Post questions or opinions to the forum.
Subscribe to the forums that is relevant to your site theme. You can find lots of forums by typing "forum your-site-keyword" without quote in search box. Choose one or two forums that seem to have many members and to be active. When you register the forum, write down your home page address in the registration form (most of forums provide the box that you can fill with your home page address). And provide your home page link at signature box. One of ways to provide link is using "BBCode", for example, "My home page:[url=http://www.myhome.com]My Home Target Keyword [/url]". You can make a link by using HTML code if they allow. After registering, post some questions or reply to other members posts. Why is this good for you?The search engines frequently crawl the forum sites and whenever they crawl those sites, they follow the links in forum as well.
So, the more post you do with your home page link in signature box, the better chance you get listed.By doing this, together with Tip #1, you'll be indexed in Yahoo! Search and MSN for sure. And this gives you higher chance to get listed on Google as well.

Tip #3 Use your blog to promote your home page.
It seems everybody is blogging. If you're not in this trend, please consider stating blogging.I presume your blog is listed on search engine (If not, following tip doesn't help). Place your home page link in your blog. This helps your home page get listed on search engines with the same reason as Tip #2

This tip is actually about getting inbound link. Because you can control your blog, this is the easiest way to get inbound link. If you can have inbound links from other web sites, it not only assure you to be listed in search engine but also to improve search engine ranking. Whenever possible, try to get quality inbound link. It's a great way to get targeted traffic, to improve search engine ranking and the only way to get listed on Teoma/Jeeves at this moment.

Using the above three tips, you will certainly achieve the initial search engine placement on Google, Yahoo! Search, MSN and probably other search engines. You even don't need to submit your URL and moreover it's not recommend nowadays. The initial search engine placement is easy and sure thing if you apply the above tips..

If your home page doesn't seem to get listed on search engine after a week...

If this is the case, something went wrong. Check following things:

  • do your links in forum, blog, and RSS feed file correctly direct to your page?
  • do you have any site construction on your home page?
  • are there any broken links in your web sites?

Correct the above problems, if any, then keep on posting and blogging and try to get inbound link. Also update your web site with new content, then update RSS feed and ping your updated RSS feed to My Yahoo! and My MSN.

To ping your updated RSS feed, copy the following address (remember you have to change "www.yourhome.com/mypages.rss" with your RSS feed file URL), paste it to your browser (e.g, IE or Firefox) address bar and hit Enter.

to My Yahoo!
http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping?u=http://www.yourhome.com/mypages.rss

to My MSN
http://api.moreover.com/ping?u=http:www.yourhome.com/mypages.rss

Hopefully, after correcting the problems and keep on applying the above tips, you may achieve initial search engine placement within another week.
